Scanlyst ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use the Scanlyst web tool ("Tool"). By using Scanlyst you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you perform a scan, your device camera captures images that are transmitted to the third-party AI provider you have selected in Settings. These images are used solely to generate your observation and are not stored by Scanlyst after processing.
Observations including AI notes, characteristics, and suggestions are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this data.
Settings such as notification preferences, haptic feedback, scan duration, and AI model selection are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to these preferences.
When you perform a scan, your skin images are transmitted to one of the following third-party AI services depending on your selected model. You will be asked to explicitly consent to this before your first scan.
You can change which AI provider processes your images at any time in Settings.
Our hosting and infrastructure provider may process limited technical information, such as request and traffic data, for hosting, security, and service operation purposes. This is separate from application-level tracking and does not involve profiling individual users across other sites or services.
If you enable daily reminders, Scanlyst schedules a local notification on your device at 9am. This is handled entirely on-device and does not involve any external servers or data transmission.
All scan results and preferences are stored locally on your device. Images are transmitted to AI providers over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not maintain any servers that store your personal health information.
Scanlyst is intended for use by individuals aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.

Scanlyst is a consumer software tool. It is not a medical device, is not cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory body, and is not intended to be used as a medical device.
This tool does not diagnose, treat, or prevent disease. Results are generated through image comparison and are not a substitute for professional medical evaluation. Only a licensed healthcare professional can diagnose skin cancer or any other medical condition. Nothing in the Tool constitutes medical advice, a medical diagnosis, a professional consultation, or a recommendation to pursue or forego any medical treatment.
Always seek the advice of a qualified physician, dermatologist, or other licensed healthcare provider regarding any skin condition or other medical concern. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or seen in this Tool.
AI-generated observations may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or incorrect. Results depend heavily on image quality, lighting conditions, camera distance, skin type, and the AI model selected. Results should never be relied upon for clinical decision-making.
You must be at least 12 years of age to use Scanlyst. By using the Tool, you represent and warrant that you are at least 12 years old.
If you are a parent or guardian permitting a minor between the ages of 12 and 17 to use the Tool, you agree to these Terms on the minor's behalf and accept full responsibility for their use of the Tool.
You may use the Tool solely for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
Scanlyst uses third-party AI services including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude, as well as a proprietary custom-trained ML model, to process scan images. Your use of third-party services through the Tool is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
Scanlyst, including all software, design, text, graphics, interfaces, and code, is owned by Sidharth Vishist and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
THE TOOL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding your use of the Tool.
